The Digital Art Masters: Volume 2 is the second of the series of books created by 3DTotal, which features 58 talented artist that are working in the CG industry today. Over the course of the next few months, we are giving away a FREE sample chapter from the book, for you to download and read. I’m Tom (aka Spinner), a Stage6 user and an employee of DivX, Inc., the company behind the service. I’m writing this message today to inform you that we plan to shut down Stage6 on February 28, 2008. Upload functionality has already been turned off, and you’ll be able to view and download videos until Thursday.
I know this news will come as a shock and disappointment to many Stage6 users, and I’d like to take a few moments to explain the reasons behind our decision.

There will now be two versions of 3ds Max on the market. In the new version for the year, announced on Wednesday at Autodesk’s annual Press Days in San Franicsco, Autodesk today announced two new versions of its Autodesk 3ds Max modeling, animation and rendering software. The company launched Autodesk 3ds Max 2009 software, and introduced 3ds Max Design 2009 software, a tailored 3D application for architects, designers and visualization specialists.
