Hi. New year starts with a new painting ;)
I am working on a banner for a blog of some friends "DARKAGENT" who write reviews (in german) about movies. They are pretty good and got a lot readers, now they start to write official game reviews.

The idea for this pic is to fill all the blank ads in the background with interpreations of lions, desklamps, castles, mountains, mushrooms, ... and add floating holographic buttons like: A, B, X, Y , L, R, O, ...
I hope you get the idea.
I'm not sure yet if I should give a weapon or some kind of tool/gadget to the agent... all crits are welcome!

Nice composition. Watch your contrasts though to establish a good flow in your image and help guide the viewer around and to your focal point. There could be even more then one. Establish a good hierarchy to tell the story.

I started to throw colors in, and i think i'll fill all the billboards like this before i start thinking about light and burn that happens to heavily light ads in the night...

do you think i could get troubles with copyrights if i do the banner like this?

good decision to drop those buttons :D also with simplifying the background, though i don't really understand why there are those creatures- are they supposed to be 3d-hologram-ads?
i really think you should concentrate on the face now, because it's still the weakest point. maybe you could try less outlines and more shading. break it down to a few basic "planes". detail comes afterwards ;)

i did a _really_ quick overpaint, but you get the idea
keep them coming! :)

the darkagent-blog is about movies and games. so i thought as a start all the different films (from MGM, Pixar, Tristar, Paramount,...) are "attacking" the agent, and he just sorts them out... I don't mind if the joke doesn't work. It's good enough if the visitors like what they see! ;)

don't know if you want some more input on the picture...but I also did a small overpainting for myself to try out some ideas, so here it is...

I changed a few things, just experimenting...I mainly tried to make it better to read, but it's very difficult whith that much stuff going on:) I also changed the character... I think DerMonkey gave you a good direction with it. In your latest version he looks more like a strange kind of vampire than a dark agent ;P

All in all I personally would go for a much more stylized version for a use as website-banner, but this is a matter of taste.
