Shinypants Sketchbook
Hey guys,
Im gonna beg and plead for assistance in pointing out where i need to improve.
Heres a brief (ha!) self assesment of my own position.
I try my hardest to find time to draw or paint everyday although im quite undisciplined when it comes to study or even returning to pieces. Im quite a visual learner so overpaints have helped in the past. I keep a small sketch book and try to fill a page whenever i have the time (train rides home from work seem to do the trick).
I tend to work quickly. Im not sure if thats an impatient thing in me but drawing slow is something i really struggle with. If the piece is likely to take longer than a couple of hours im probably likely to freeze up and not know where to start for fear of ruining it. Working with perspective makes me want to cringe and run away although i know i need to get comfortable with it.
Im not a subtle painter. Probably due to my painting too quickly. So small details are probably lost.
I dunno... Ive attached a bunch of my more recent or better work of mine.
Brutality is what im looking for. Hit me in the head with a shovel if you have to. Im not precious with my work.
I'll keep this updated with whatever comes from my stylus or if i decide to scan my sketchbook.
Thanks in advance - Shiny
