Mull, thanks and g'luck in Scotland for the "trials".
(also, I won't tell Kaber that you're actually planning to make a flight out to the Faroes in order to learn more about how to eradicate our evil forum-leprechaun from that mysterious old lady in the mountains; don't wanna get his hopes up and all, right?
)
thuj, thanks a lot man; I'll get back with you on alchemy questions when something comes along, also I'm not 100% sure what you're referring to there with the rendering, but it's pretty standard stuff for the most part really.
as far as brushes go, my 3-workhorses for some time now have been a combo of the standard-rounds
(hardedge/softedge), the oil pastel large
(daarken's variant settings, but tweaked every now and then to fit my 'handedness' and stroking-habits) and the basic airbrush.
I also used a sketchpen type brush, and a couple of quick sweeps with a blender on this too; it's sad, but I really don't maintain a paper-sketchbook anymore, so much as just doodle nonsense on loose sheets of scrap, and those squiggly lines and whatnot are largely no different to that kind of warmup-doodling, where I'm either just going back over, and '
attempting' to solidify the immediate impression of an angle/edge/form, exploring for undiscovered lines, or just plain being lazy about finishes! ;D
Another good option for doing that is by lowering the opacity of certain layers as you continue to build up forms, but mainly if you can remind yourself at the start to keep those structural shapes underneath as more "basic" (simple boxes/spheres), you will be amazed at just how effortlesstly things develop from there, and how they can actually be made to look much more "complex" than they actually are in the end with a solid bit of practice. thanks again
IGB, most out of the box idea is getting a nod from me. I'm a tmnt fan, whether it's the gritty, or cartoon versions, and this immediately reminded me of something that could fit in with that, (quirky/vibrant color) even tho it's a frog-mech, and not a turtle-mech lol
also, I'm a left-handed chicken too, and I think that this other left-handed chicken of yours did a good job on this for an hour's worth of drawlin' and colorin', so much sooooo...that I'm thinkin it really deserves an extra helping of chicken-feed at din-din, but tell Aussiemum NOT to bring the barbed-chains with her again, because I'm promising beforehand that I won't steal from the others this time, even tho I alone, STILL have not been fed for months. The reasoning for this I have yet to be made aware of

...I mean really---
---starting to get a
little worried now because I'm wasting away out here, and my throats gone raw from all of this endless begging I'm doing, but really the worst part is that my fingers, and toes are starting to look REALLY tasty and delicious to me...so yeah, a little help someone, please?...please? >.<;;;;;;;;;
