Re: SOTW - Design Brief Mini #5
Hey guys.
Just to make things clear[er], all the final entries will get put together into a larger storyboard style sequence. You don't need to draw your own storyboard for this. Check out the brief, under the section of Just for fun...
One small request - when you've decided on or finished your final entry/entries could you please mark your post with the word FINAL so I know which ones to use. We've got quite a lot of images so far and some of them are WIPs, so I don't want to get the wrong ones.
We'll still have voting as normal. Cheers guys!

Re: SOTW - Design Brief Mini #5
hi guys,
minor update from me. unfortunally i'm feeling very ill right now. having some unknown kind of neurologic problem. vertigo all the time. :( i hope its nothing dangerous. maybe this is my last entry for this sotw cause i cant really focus on anything right now.
so please consider this as my FINAL. :)

Re: SOTW - Design Brief Mini #5
ok, so i don't think i can finish the entrance scene as i planned to, so here are the other two FINALS
1st is the opening panorama.
(the sinkhole is huge and actually where the waterfalls are. (you can spot them in the back of the entrance sketch) camera would pan forward and rotate left, to open the view on the entire sinkhole *hmm idea for some more speedies^^*)
2,5hrs.
2nd is the first team surveying the darkness. it's obviously an ancient cult-place. who knows what they might have stired up down there... ?
4 hrs
at this point i want to say that this weeks SOTW was realy great and sir ian did a great job setting this up! i had fun :)

LUIS! ALWAYS good to have you active whenever it's possible.
I'm really digging the sense of action in your final, but want to see it a bit more realized as well. come back around more often!

Hi Crewler, I think that I like the top-image moreso than the bottom sketch. There's a nice depth of field to it, or overall feeling of grandness, and scope that is fitting, and certainly so given where it's evolved with the other images involved. If you go any further with it, I would consider possibly increasing the size of the hole itself so that it's emphasized more within the composition. Nice stuff!
DerMonkey: Killer work man, especially on your final image. I'm sure time was a factor as you refined it a bit, but I only think it could use something of relevance (markings, decoration?) on that huge door now, maybe even something completely crazy, and unrelated; like a gang of shrunken Smurf-heads?
I would like to hold off on next week's theme for now so that we may have a few more votes cast for everyone's collective-efforts here.
Awesome concept, IGBEE

Re: SOTW - Design Brief Mini #5
Much more immediate 'impact' to those Crewler. btw, what is the shiny light in the last image there?
lol I'm not a great 'wanna-be' multi-tasker Thuj ><;
I loved your thumbs designs as well, esp. #4, and I would say that similar to the size of the rift in Crewler's initial speed, you can really push that aspect moreso if you take it further, without sacrificing the storytelling of the scene in your final.
Noticeable clothing details and such, aren't particularly necessary considering the size of the rescuers here within the pic either, (for the most part, just think of interplay between silhouettes/rim-light for something quick like this) but with that in mind, you generally do want to push emphasis/focus/size (and I want to be careful about including "size" in that group) towards the main storytelling aspect you want to be communicated within the image.
In this case the "rescue" itself is the focus, (please correct me if I'm reading it wrong) and given that, the rift would remain a "second-tier" element of sorts.
Your #4 thumb, which is a great, dynamic shot, along with an increase in the size of the rift, given the importance of it within IGB's setup (maybe it could have been a massive river-waterfall?) would make the base for another excellent scene within the storyboard imo.

Yep the man is right, and as promised the final sequence made from YOUR images is now up for you all to gaze lovingly at and say, 'you know what?, we did that'...
