its the angle/perspective... nose and lips give you an idea the face is little more facing towards right side of screen but the angle on the eyes gives you an idea that the face is turned bit to the right facing the screen.

It looks great. Very good job. I could never do something like that.

I agree about the eye not being right, and the flowers are a nice touch, but something bothers me with the "string" of flowers as it looks as if she's blowing them but they are attached to her face. Perhaps use free flowing flowers that can travel with her breath? if you want to use that string perhaps use it as a partial border?

example: from the top left and wrapping around to the bottom right of the piece with the end flower being a little bigger and in the corner.

*edit* however if they are supposed to be in her hair maybe move the higher so it doesn't look like they are being blown, or have the hair flowing over a little bit of the "string"

I like that one too, I always love sea scapes, but never liked swimming in the ocean/sea ever since I got stung by a jellyfish when I was younger...

I need to start getting some speed paintings up... I think it would help break some of this artist block I have been having...

they are a nice start. i would only suggest moving into some more richly satuarated colours and tones, and dont start with a white backgroud - they make you see colours the wrong way - does that make sense?

also, what type of brush are you using? i use a hard brush set to 100% opacity and 32% flow, with a wacom tablet.
