For a chance to win this fantastic new concept art book from SPARTH (Nicolas Bouvier) produce a single new piece of artwork inspired by the style of Sparth.

This is a single competition hosted by CGPAD, to enter this competition you need to satisfy the following criteria:

ANY member or staff member are eligible to enter
ALL members MUST have a minimum post count of 10 non spammed posts
ALL work must be created by the member in original form
ALL entries must be posted before the 2nd Nov (4 weeks deadline)
NO size restrictions
ONE entry per member only
NO WIPs or sketches to be posted
Post ALL submissions in the Submission thread ONLY

The winner will be announced after the 2nd Nov, the judging will be by Sparth and his decision is final.
The above criteria must be met and the one piece which symbolises the style of Sparth but with an individual twist.

If any member enters this contest CGPAD assumes you agree to the above terms and criteria.

all over this one, I was gonna get the book anyway when I get some spending money. Too bad the econs in the toilet and foods expensive =P

Maybe it's time I start being more active on here again (work has taken its toll) and this would be a good oportunity for that... I lies outside the scope of my normal work, but that is just a bigger challenge!

The prize is indeed a VERY good one, and I subscribed to this topic to see all entries that will come in. Looking forward to it!

It is indeed, for anyone interested in digital/concept art then this is a must. Be good to see you enter in on the comp Rodders, the more the better

I did, dont worry mate I bought myself a copy too which is how I know the quality and content.

So what are the criteria you'll use to judge?

I mean, is it the best overall piece that wins, or the one that most resembles Sparth's work?

I'll be judging it on the best interpretation of Sparths style of design but with your own twist, I dont expect any direct copies but for members to see the attributes used by Nicolas and interpret them in a piece.

Plus the other criteria must be met, anyone who doesnt meet the criteria will not be judged.

ok because am feeling really really generous....I've lowered the post count restriction BUT if this proves popular then I may introduce other prize driven contests then the post counts will come into play at a greater level.

for example:

25 posts: *art related book
50 posts: *gnomon dvd title
100 posts: wacom tablet

I'd love to see that happend. I need to get me a new tablet within six months, and a wacom stands on the wishlist...

First to whack the competition on this and get a hold of the Sparth-book... hmm...this will get tough... can I kill people so Im alone in the competition?

Struggling with sketches right now. Will hopefully get something going soon.
